StatsHunters gives you a lot of nice extras on top of your Strava data. When you connect with Strava your activities will be synced to StatsHunters. You can show your activities on a heatmap, show a lot of extra statistics like Eddington number, Tiles explorer cluster and square size, badges of famous climbs or other challenges. Badges are checked in the background so it could take a few minutes before badges are checked. Badges near a certain location could be wrong because of the gps offset. If you encounter this problem please let me know and I can change the badge.

If it is a new badge and added later you can re-check an activity for badges by clicking on the activity line on the heatmap and select "re-check badges". The activity will be scheduled to be re-checked for badges.

If a badge is counted but it should not, for instance because a activity was updated later. You can "reset a badge".

• Go to the badges overview page
• For multi level badges click the badge, in the overview right click on a level badge and click "reset badge" (only the max level can be resetted).
• For location badges right click the badge and click "reset badge"

If you have some nice ideas for new badges also let me know!

Gear and clubs are updated on login. If your new gear or club is missing please logout and login to update them.

If your gear is shown in the filter menu, but they are not shown correctly on the activity page check here how to update activities.

In the right top corner you can access the filter menu. Here you can filter activities by metric, type, gear, date and name. Filtering will apply to heatmap, statistics, photos and activities. You can not apply filtering to badges, clubs and email. To reset all filtering click 'clear filters'

If you have some filters you regularly use you can save them so it will be easier to load them next time you use StatsHunters. You can also use your browser bookmarks to directly load a set of filters.

In the right top corner you can access the settings menu. Under 'layout settings' you can change the map layout.

Under 'display settings' you can show/hide your current location, show/hide badges, show/hide photos, show activities as lines or heatmap, show explorer tiles and dutch provinces.

On the settings page you can switch units to miles

StatsHunters does not sell or share your data to anyone. Your StatsHunters page is not visible for others, but you can share it if you like. Your activities will be visible on club heatmaps, this can be disabled on your settings page.

Veloviewer explorer tiles are squares on the map, when one of your activities crosses a square it is counted as a tile. (see the red squares below)


If you cross the connected left, right, top and bottom tile of a tile it is counted as a cluster-tile. (see the green square in the middle)

The max cluster is based on all the connected cluster-tiles.


The max square is based on the biggest square you can create with all the connected tiles.

You can see your tiles on the map by activating them on the "map settings" in the top right menu or via this link.

The size of a tile is about a mile square, but depends on the place on the earth. See here for the exact calculation. If you want to know more about tiles check RideEveryTile or Veloviewer

If you want to delete your data from StatsHunters you can do this on the settings page. It will remove all data. You can always try StatsHunters again by connecting with Strava (be aware that all data need to be re-imported). If you "revoke access" on the Strava website new data will not be synced, but existing data wil not be removed.

In some cases is the activity precision not good enough to calculate the tiles correctly. By default StatsHunters saves a less precise line of the activity to save space.

If you want to update an activity because it is not correct. Go to the heatmap, click on the activity line and select "Update activity precision".

You can choose for 3 different ways to update an activity.
1. Update activity precision: It will download the extended GPS data from Strava.
2. Simple interpolation: It will add extra GPS point between all GPS points
3. Advanced interpolation: It will add even more GPS point between all GPS points

Within a few seconds the activity will be reloaded and updated. (it will not help to do this multiple times for one specific activity)

When connecting with Strava you can decide to what data StatsHunters has access. You can control this in the Authorization window while connecting.

The following permissions are requested:

• View data about your public profile (required) - To login with Strava
• View your private non-activity data such as segments and routes - To load your private routes
• View you complete Strava profile - To load your gear
• View data about your activities - To load your non-private activities
• View data about your private activities - To load you private activities

If you later want to change the access to certain permissions you can "Revoke Access" on the Strava apps settings page and re-connect on StatsHunters.

Remark: With these permissions it is only possible to read data and not delete, create or update.

To make it easier to hunt for new tiles you can install the StatsHunters Chrome or Firefox Extension and show your tiles on the Strava, Komoot, RWGPS, Brouter, Garmin and Mapy route builder.

How does it work (see this video)
1. Install the extension Chrome or Firefox
2. Login to StatsHunters and copy the API-code from the settings page
3. Click the StatsHunters extension icon and past the API-code
4. Go to the one of the route builders
5. Start building new routes

If you have retired gear in Strava and it is not shown in StatsHunters you can solve this with a the following actions:

1. Open the gear settings page https://www.strava.com/settings/gear
2. Temporary unretire the gear that is missing in StatsHunters
3. Logout and re-login to StatsHunters (the unretired gear is now added to StatsHunters)
4. Retire your gear on Strava

The retired gear should now be/stay available in StatsHunters for filtering.

There are 2 ways of sharing your statistics and activities.

You can share a link to your profile on StatsHunters, in this way you share your complete StatsHunters page. Create a share link here

The second option is to create a sharable image of a specific activity, month or overall statistcs checkout this youtube video for more info or start here.

By default will the map be centered based on the latest activity. You can change this following the next steps:

- Open the heatmap
- On the right top open the settings menu
- Open the layout settings
- Center the map to your prefered location
- Click the "Set default location" icon

For those who are active in the Netherlands, you can check the Long term NL challenge on StatsHunters.

You can check on the heatmap what regions you visited uptil now. In the right top corner you can toggle the "Dutch regions" in the display settings.
